beyond bauhaus talk : How do you want to save the world?

Applied social design in refugee camps and the garbage liberation of the world’s oceans.

Discussion with Nicole Löser, Institute for Art and Innovation, and Prof. Gilbert Beronneau, design akademie berlin;
moderated by Prof. Ralf Kemmer, design akademie berlin

The social challenges of our time are numerous; topics such as migration, poverty reduction, waste avoidance, urban development, diversity are present on a daily basis and require individual discussion. Can design support this and can we save the world through design or art? Social design is design focused on people, users, stakeholders or disempowered groups are the focus. The two designers Nicole Löser and Prof. Gilbert Beronneau show the Ups and Downs, the Desire and the Reality in their respective projects. The two designers answer 10 critical questions about their projects and discuss the ideas and realisations with the audience.

The Social Design Talk is an event of the design akademie berlin as part of „beyond bauhaus – prototyping the future“. The exhibition of the same name at CLB Berlin is open daily from 11am to 7pm.
