beyond bauhaus Talk : My Artificial Intelligence …

Help! My Artificial Intelligence doesn’t seem so intelligent! – Some intelligence is better than others.

An interview with designer and concept developer David Linderman, IBM iX Innovation Lab, and futurist Martin Wezowski, SAP, about the creation of AI; moderated by Prof. Ralf Kemmer, design akademie berlin

The use of artificial intelligence is currently attracting a lot of attention, at least in the media, and promises to make our lives easier. Our house welcomes us, chatbots understand our problems and in the end the machines are more polite than the real people around us – at the same time there are mostly evil machines in science fiction. How are these machines created and how will they shape our future?

We will talk about human-machine interfaces and about the human in a superhuman future, about possibilities and limits, ethical requirements and the service orientation of AI.

David Linderman, has been designing the digital for more than 25 years, most recently he collaborated on explaining the science behind Watson and worked with teams at the Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights. Since then, he worked on creative applications for machine learning in remote therapies in digital health and consumer products and services.

Martin Wezowski has been loving and living design and innovation his whole career. He moved across a broad range of design disciplines from visual, interaction, service to system design and to be leading design as a strategic endeavour. Right now he is on the mission to map, build and inspire a future we all want to live in. As Chief Designer & Futurist for SAP’s the strategy at Technology & Innovation he crafts long-term visions, strategies and products, defines and runs innovation frameworks to find out what’s next for SAP and the future of work.

The event is part of “beyond bauhaus – prototyping the future”. The exhibition of the same name at CLB Berlin is open daily from 11am to 7 pm

Admission free.

The talk will be in English.
